I was born with an artist’s
heart. I wanted the biggest box of crayons, the watercolor set, the
paints, and the fabric to make the coolest clothes, the sheet music to
play on my instrument of choice. But these things were hard to come by
as a child.
Recently I have taken steps to make the dream of being an artist come
true. As an adult I tried different mediums, pencil, pen and ink,
watercolors, textiles, ceramics, tile, and bronze casting. I still work
with these mediums but I chose glass as my focus. I chose glass because
of the dynamic way light affects it. Light can be transmitted or it can
be reflected. A piece of art glass can look completely different at
night than it does in the daylight. You can create two different
personalities and if done well, both will be stunningly beautiful. My
designs and work are driven by color and color combinations. The more
dramatic, the better. The secondary force is texture. When I put these
twp elements together and a patron looks at it and says “Wow!” – That is
the result I hope to achieve.
I am a proud Kansas City native, with a BS in Business Administration. I
am the mother of three awesome young men and I enjoy living and creating
in Parkville, Missouri with my dog Lilly and 5 cats. I am also a
founding member/musician with the Parkville Community Band for the past
14 years. Art and music are my passion
